Pastor Matthew Gage is a Decatur native and grew up on a dairy farm north of town. He felt the call to preach when in the third grade and graduated from a Bible college in Kentucky with a degree in pastoral theology. Since graduating, he has served in area churches and helped in a church plant in McKinney. Along the way he was taught Sunday School, played piano, conducted children’s programs, and helped in many other areas of ministry. Since 2007, he has maintained a personal website at BaptistBasics.org.
Matthew and his wife Rebecca live in Decatur and have four children.
